I could have named this post 75 great reasons to live in Downtown Coeur d’Alene because I love this wonderful area but for the sake of not boring you, I’ll keep this short and sweet.
- Moontime – Yes, I literally put down a restaurant as one of the reasons you should live in the area. Why? Because the only thing better than eating at Moontime is biking or walking to eat at Moontime, which is technically located in the up and coming “East Sherman” area. Also, you haven’t lived until you’ve had a Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich.
- Artwalk – Artwalk is a fun, downtown monthly event that runs the second Friday of the month April through December. Sponsored by the Arts and Culture Alliance, Artwalk is a fun evening of art and wine where you spend the evening roaming around the participating galleries and restaurant, many of which are serving free wine and appetizers to attendees. This event should absolutely be a part of your monthly schedule!
- The Lake – Of course.
- The Downtown Association Events – The CDA downtown association does an amazing job of throwing terrific events for the community! They make it so easy to have something to fill up your calendar all year round and if you live downtown, it’s easy to stroll down and be involved! Like wine? Great, there’s an amazing wine event. Love macaroni and cheese? Boy, do we have the event for you! Into cars? Well, you get the idea.
- Sense of Community – Anyone that lives downtown will tell you it is a very warm, welcoming community. Do you hate seeing your neighbors’ kids walking their dogs down the sidewalk or having everyone on your street look out for one another? If so, you shouldn’t live downtown. The residents of Downtown CDA are a close-knit group of caring individuals and I promise you that, should you move downtown, you will rarely go a week without a dinner invitation.
